You might have components or hardware items in your assemblies that you purchase from a supplier. SecturaFAB offers solutions to include these components in your quotes for a complete bill of materials. Let's discover how.
1. After uploading your file, select the purchased component. Ensure the part type is listed as “Component.” Find out more about managing assemblies in our resource center.
2. First, select a hardware price list. Learn more about price lists in our resource center. Then, assign a “Unit Cost.” Finally, add a margin for this component.
3. Next, add a unit weight for this component. Choose to save for future use on the price list you selected. Adjust the quantity as needed and select “Finish.”
4. You can also add a hardware component to a line item using a secondary operation. Select "Secondary Costs" tab on a line item. In this example, a "PEM Hardware Installation" operation is used. Find out more about secondary operations in our resource center.
5. Next, select desired price list and search for a specific component in the “Product Field.” Enter a quantity in “# of PEM/Item.”
6. Input a “Unit Costs” and a “Unit Price” for this component. Add a time per hardware for the operation in the “Time per PEM.” Finally, select “Add” and then “Add Operation” to complete.
Next, let's discover how component pricing works in SecturaFAB with a few examples of calculating the price for a component that has a Hardware margin/markup and a Global margin/markup. Learn more about margins and markups in our resource center.
Unit Cost = Max(Min Unit Cost, Raw Unit Cost)
Unit Adjusted Cost = Unit Cost * Hardware Markup
Unit Price = Round(Unit Adjusted Cost * Markup)
Example 1
Hardware Margin = 15%
Margin = 20%
Raw Unit Cost = $1.50
Min Unit Cost = $2.50
Unit Cost = Max($1.50 , $2.50) = $2.50
Unit Adjusted Cost = $2.50 / (1 - 0.15) = $2.50 / 0.85 = $2.94117
Unit Price = Round($2.94117/(1 - 0.2)) = Round($2.94117 / 0.8) = Round($3.67647) = $3.68
Example 2
Hardware Markup = 15%
Markup = 25%
Raw Unit Cost = $1.50
Min Unit Cost = $2.50
Unit Cost = Max($1.50,$2.50) = $2.50
Unit Adjusted Cost = $2.50 * (1 + 0.15) = $2.50 * 1.15 = $2.875
Unit Price = Round($2.875 * (1 + 0.25)) = Round($2.875 * 1.25) = Round($3.59375) = $3.59
