Set up Outsourced Production Codes
1. Select the gear icon in the top right corner located in the black bar. Next, select “Production Codes” within the “Production” settings.
2. Let’s outsource Anodize. Select “Anodize” and then choose “Edit.”
3. Next, select “Outsource.” Once checked, select “Update” to save the changes.
4. If multiple operations need to be outsourced, select “Export.” A CSV named “ProductionCode.csv” can be opened and edited in Excel.
5. Once opened, locate the “Outsource” column and change the values in the cell from “FALSE” to “TRUE” for any operations that will be outsourced and save the file.
6. Next, select “Import.”
7. Drag and drop your saved file or use “Select files.” to upload.
8. Once the file has been uploaded notice the “File(s) uploaded successfully” and you can then select “Done.”
Use Outsourcing in a Quote with Primary Operations
1. When using “Shapes” to create line items, check “Outsource.” Next, fill in the requested information:
- Your Unit Cost and the Margin will decide the price for the outsourced operation.
- Material Cost ($/lb) can be included as well.
2. When creating line items using the “Long” button, check “Outsource.” Next, fill in the requested information:
- Your Unit Cost and the Margin will decide the price for the outsourced operation.
- Material Cost ($/lb) can be included as well.
Use Outsourcing in a Quote with Secondary Operations
1. Select “Operation” from the global action menu. Then select the “Outsource” operation. Learn how to create an outsourced operation in our resource center.
2. Select the operation you want to outsource and input the calculator information.
Congratulations! You can now designate production codes as outsourced and apply outsourced operations to a quote.
