Imagine your shop is receiving a new fiber laser. Exciting!
Use SecturaFAB’s “Quick Add” feature to automatically generate calculators so your team can quote any scenario quickly and consistently, without underestimating.
Want to watch an example? Play the video to follow along with these setup steps.
1. Select the settings icon. Then, choose “Operations” from the Production options.
2. Select “Quick Add.”
3. Lasers are located under “Primary Operations.” As a refresher, here’s how operations are defined in SecturaFAB:
- Primary Operation: The first operation applied to an item in a quote, often the cutting operation.
- Secondary Operation: Added after the part is created, such as bending, welding, grinding, or painting.
4. Enter the cost per hour, price per hour, and a recognizable name for the operation. Then, select the plus sign to reveal the calculators.
5. Use the checkboxes to include or remove variables, then define their parameters.
6. Since this calculator is a profile type, it connects to the tech table; that means we need to leave the laser run field alone. Choose from the tech tables in the dropdown.
Then, select “Add” one time. Important: One click submits your information — to avoid duplication, click “Add” just once.
7. Now, confirm your operation is available. Return to the Operations page.
8. Select “Profile” and choose “View.”
9. There’s our new laser operation with the calculators we defined.
10. Need to edit a value in the tech table, or upload the tech table provided by the manufacturer? Open the equipment.
11. You can either edit the tech table directly in SecturaFAB (changes are automatically saved) or choose “Select files” to upload the manufacturer’s file. Important: Make sure the CSV file you upload matches the format of other tech tables in SecturaFAB to ensure everything updates correctly.
12. Now, when you select your new fiber laser as a machine in your quote, SecturaFAB will calculate your costs and pricing based on the tech table and time parameters you defined in your Quick Add.
Following these steps, you can successfully set up a fiber laser operation in SecturaFAB. Please refer to our additional resources and videos or learn how to quick add a weld operation here.
