Navigate To An Existing Operation Calculator
1. Select the Settings gear. Then, choose “Operations” from the Production options.
2. To edit the operation details, choose a single line item and select “Edit."
3. Edit the operation details as needed. Select "Save."
Adjustable components include:
- Name — Enter the name of the operation.
- Code — Define the operation code.
- Description — Enter a description of the operation.
- Label — Enter a label (five-character limit). It appears on the quotes and is used for preferred routing.
- Tag — Leave this field empty. Currently, tags are not in use.
- External Reference — Supply the external reference ID from your business system.
- Enabled — Check to enable the operation.
- Primary Operation — Check for primary operation.
- Required by Quote — Check for primary operations only.
4. To edit operation calculators select "View" from the available commands.
5. After navigating to the operation calculators screen use commands to quickly edit the calculators.
Command options include:
- Refresh — Reload the operation calculators.
- Add — Add a new operation calculator.
- View — View an existing operation calculator.
- Edit — Edit a selected operation calculator.
- Delete — Delete a selected operation calculator.
- Copy — Copy an existing selected operation calculator.
- Set Order — Define the order of operations.
- Reorder — Drag and drop the order of the operation calculators.
6. Select the hyperlinked operation name to review operation calculator details such as entered by, and date entered.
7. Select "Edit."
8. Edit operation calculator options like:
- Product Type — Select the type of product this operation applies to.
- Operation Type — Assign an operation as a primary, secondary or setup calculator.
- Calculator Type — This is a glossary of calculator types with definitions of use.
- Conversion — This option refers to a base unit to mathematically apply to the cost unit (time/duration/length/weight).
- Cost Category — Set the value at which the conversion is multiplied to yield a price estimate.
- Field Description — This refers to how the calculator is named on a quote.
- Equipment — Define selectable equipment that uses this calculator.
- Rules — Apply additional cost components for the operation such as heavy parts, finishing or cleaning of a part.
- Input Type — Set this field to default.
- Base Units — Determine the base units of measure for the operation calculator. They match the cost units of the cost category.
- Default Value — This is a standard value based on the conversation with no further inputs.
- Cost Units — Determine the cost units of measure for the operation calculator. They match the cost units of the cost category.
- Minimum Value — Set the minimum value needed to be applied per operation calculator.
- Minimum Price — Set the minimum price to be applied per operation calculator.
9. Edit the cost calculation by adjusting the conversion and default value of the calculator.
