Adding a new tool to an existing tool file allows you to efficiently manage and optimize operations while maintaining accuracy in tool selection. Whether you need to introduce a new tool for a specific operation or adjust a tool size, let’s explore the process.
1. Select "Settings."
2. Select “Equipment” from the “Production” settings.
3. In this example, let’s add a new drill size. Select “Edit” on a drill machine.
4. Select “Edit” on the tool file. A new window will populate in your browser with the tool file. Alternatively, select “download” to edit in Excel.
5. If edited in Excel, use “Select Files” to re-upload the CSV and select it from the available tool file drop-down.
6. In this example, we are editing the tool file in SecturaFAB. Copy an existing tool entry and paste it to create a new tool. Modify the Tool ID (column A) by replacing one letter or number to ensure uniqueness.
7. Add the new tool size of 30 millimeters (column I). Double-check the units to ensure accuracy. Select “Back” to save changes. Check out our resource center for an additional video on tool libraries.
