Read on to explore what's new:
- New look for Knowledgebase
-
- If you’re familiar with the Knowledgebase you may notice some cosmetic changes, no worries though all the same great content is available plus some new. If you are not familiar with the Knowledgebase now is a great time to check it out! You can access the Knowledgebase through the “?” at the top right of SecturaFAB or with this link: SecturaFAB Knowledgebase.
- Size Calculations for Linear STEP Files
-
- We are excited to announce an enhancement to our STEP File Import feature that addresses an issue with how SecturaFAB would calculate the sizes from a Linear STEP file. In previous versions, some calculations returned slightly rounded values due to the way geometry was being parsed from the file and calculated. A new way of reading the data in these files and calculating precise sizes that align with your product list will streamline Linear workflows and directly eliminate manual input that was needed before.
- Auto Weld Feature
-
- In this version an Enable Auto Weld setting has been added to Setup within Quote Details. By default, this is off, you must turn it on to use Auto Weld capabilities. Auto Weld is exclusively for STEP Assembly files the have defined welds. When used the welds will be displayed in your Quote’s Assembly and combined in the top level. In this version Auto Weld is limited to Fillet Weld types only.
- Bug Fix for Edge Distance and Part Clearance Lookup
- We're pleased to announce the resolution of a critical bug affecting the accuracy of edge distance and part clearance values in our software's nesting functionality. In previous versions, some users reported that the software was not correctly looking up edge distance and part clearance values from the nesting file. Our development team has swiftly identified and rectified this issue, ensuring that edge distance and part clearance values are now accurately retrieved from the nesting file for all sheets and sizes.
- Warning Added for Product Uploads
- A warning has been added when uploading products from a file if the file is blank or compressed. Previously these would be displayed as successful which could be misleading to a user or automation making it necessary to double check your uploads. This update will provide visual feedback letting you know there was a problem with the file that needs to be addressed.
- Inventory Match Requirement for Quote Item Location
- If in Quote Preferences, you choose to Use Product Weight Cost from Quote Item Locations then SecturaFAB will require you to have a matching inventory in the selected location before you can add an item to your quote. You will now see a warning stating that you have “Invalid Inventory! Please select another location.”. For more information on these settings please visit our Knowledgebase using the links below or the question mark next to the setting itself.
- Use Product Weight Cost
- Quote Item Location
- Bug Fix for Part Thickness Entry
- We are pleased to inform you about the successful resolution of a bug that has been impacting part thickness entries in our software. In previous versions, users encountered an issue where manually entering a part thickness that was not present in the drop-down list would result in unintended changes to the part's thickness value if you update that item.
- Bug Fix for Assembly Component Values Reordering
- We are pleased to announce the successful resolution of a bug affecting assembly components in our software. In earlier versions, users reported an issue where components within an assembly were assigned random values upon import, leading to unintended numeric reordering when modifications were made to the assembly. Our development team has addressed this issue ensuring that assembly components will now retain their assigned values consistently, even after modifications are made to the top-level assembly.
Conclusion: In conclusion, this version of SecturaFAB represents a step forward in efficiency and functionality. We are immensely grateful to our dedicated user base for their unwavering support and valuable feedback throughout this journey. Your insights have been integral to shaping this release. With this update, we extend our heartfelt thanks for being a part of our continued evolution. Here's to a future of enhanced productivity and success.
