Easily set up a TIG operation by using the quick add feature in SecturaFAB. Calculate the costs related to setup and length of the weld or choose from different calculator options. Let's explore.
1. Let's create the operation. Select "Settings" from the home page. Next, select "Operations" from the Productions menu.
2. Select "Quick Add" from the action menu.
3. Welding is considered as a Secondary Operation. Select the "Secondary Operation" tab. Check out our resource center for more information on operation types.
4. Locate the "Welding" option. Enter a cost, price, and a common name for this operation, then, select "+" to add the calculators. We recommend the following calculators:
- TIG Weld Per Inch – Length

- Length of TIG Weld is the number of seconds
- TIG Weld Per Inch is the number of inches that can be welded in the time specified in the Length of TIG Weld field

- Weld-Setup-TIG – FixedTime

- Weld Setup Time is the conversion factor often left at 1
- Weld-Setup is the setup time for your TIG weld which will be amortized across each line-item quantity

Select "Add" to complete.
Now, let's apply this operation to a quote. In this example, let's use "Operation" from the global action menu.
1. Begin by selecting "Operation" from the global action menu. Next, select "Weld" as your operation and choose your newly created TIG weld equipment. Use the length-based calculator to input the length of your weld. Finally, select "Add Operation" to add it to a line item on your quote.
