Streamline how you create and manage materials and products in SecturaFAB. Are you stocking any new types of material? Do you need to add a new product? Creating New Material

1. Navigate to "Material Types" within the "Inventory" settings.

2. Select "Add" to create a new material.

Let’s create a new stainless-steel material. First, let’s define the available options:

a. Material – The material grade will also be used as the name.

b. Group –The relevant material group. Select from the dropdown or type in your own.

c. Product Type – The type of product associated with this material. The options include:

- - All
  - Bar
  - Linear
  - Pipe
  - Plate
  - Structural
  - Tube

d. Group Code – A group tag that can be associated with the material.

e. Density – The density of the material, this is used to calculate the weight of items if no product is assigned to the item.

f. Remark – An internal remark or comment.

Now that we have defined the options, let’s create the material. The required fields for any new material are:

Material
Group
Product Type
Density

For this example, the material information is as follows:

Material – 304 #8
Group – SS
Product Type – Plate
Density – 0.291

Add Costs

You can quickly add a cost to this new material by selecting the “Add Cost” box. Enter the cost and select a unit from the “Units” dropdown. Learn more about creating and editing costs in our resource center.

Define Thickness Map

The thickness map defines the list of thicknesses available for a material grade or material group. You can edit the thickness map of new material by selecting the “Add Thickness Map” box.

Add or delete a thickness by selecting the command options or select “x” to remove a thickness from the thickness map. Finally, select “Create.”

Alternatively, you can adjust the default thickness map by navigating to “Thickness Map” within the “Inventory” settings.

Creating Products

Now, let’s create a product. Open the “Products” dropdown on the SecturaFAB homepage. Then, choose “Products” from the list.

The Products tab shows a complete list of all the products available. Filter through the products using the filter options or searching for a specific part in any search bar.
